Everyone knows about stories. There is hardly any one among us that has not heard, at some point in their lives, those four wonderfully familiar words, “once upon a time…” Many of us are immediately swept back to happy and simpler times in our childhood when we were nurtured and loved and soothed to sleep by stories passed down through the ages.
Metaphor Stories for Hypnosis are very much the same as the stories of our childhood. They have a definite beginning, middle and end, with some positive moral outcome. The metaphors themselves may be obvious or disguised within the story, but make no mistake; the right brain, when appropriately relaxed via a suitable induction, will find the message every time! The familiarity of the story format fosters clients’ further relaxation, making the process more comfortable and accessible for them.
Metaphor Stories for Hypnosis: Stimulate Change While Telling a Tale, can be used with many clients, as the stories are fairly general and express universal themes and ideas. Most of them are written in the female voice, because so much of my practice is with women (and that‟s how I think); but they can just as easily be adapted for use with male clientele. In my practice, I have found it most useful to utilize these stories after the client has been induced to a light to medium trance level and before any specific suggestion work is undertaken. The stories can often act as a deepener, as well. You may choose to use them differently.
I have written the stories using ellipsis marks […] to indicate phrasing and rhythm, but feel free to read them in whatever way is most comfortable and natural for you.
I hope you find Metaphor Stories for Hypnosis: Stimulate Change While Telling a Tale, enjoyable and helpful.
