Traumatic Incidents
When we experience a trauma or traumatic event, it affects every cell in our body. We are stunned into a new way of existing, and usually without warning or any sense of control.
Then, as if that wasn’t enough, our body believes what we tell it and will do whatever it can to “prove” our mind correct. And because it is human nature to replay events over and over in our mind like a broken record, eventually, you may find that your body responds by manifesting undesirable effects or symptoms.
Hypnosis is helpful in re-framing the trauma; in essence, using the mind to tell the body a new story. This does not change the actual historical event, but it changes the way the body “hears” about it and reacts to it. It can remove the anguish, the emotional reaction, and restore calm and balance, allowing the event to be placed “in the back of our mind” rather than front and center.
