Fears & Phobias
Sometimes it’s called a fear; other times it’s called a phobia. Bottom line - if it limits your life, it needs to be dealt with.
Stedman’s Medical Dictionary defines phobia as: “A persistent, abnormal, or irrational fear of a specific thing or situation that compels one to avoid the feared stimulus. A strong fear, dislike, or aversion.”
The top ten most common phobias are: Arachnophobia; Social Phobia; Aerophobia; Agoraphobia; Acrophobia; Emetophobia; Carcinophobia; Brontophobia; and Necrophobia.
